About
Drainage issues are the problems that sit outside the fixture. Water lying against the house after rain, downpipes that dump into a garden bed, a yard that will not dry, a pit that overflows, or a stormwater line with no fall — those jobs belong on this page.
CH Plumbing Projects diagnoses and repairs drainage on residential and small commercial properties across the Central Coast and Hunter Region. The aim is simple: get water away from the building, into a legal point of discharge, without creating a problem for the neighbour.
Typical drainage problems we see locally
Stormwater connected into sewer — illegal and a common cause of wet-weather overflows
Downpipes with no charged line or pit
Yards graded toward the house rather than away from it
Collapsed or silted stormwater pipes after tree work or vehicle traffic
Surface water entering garages and undercrofts on sloping Central Coast blocks
How we approach the job
We look at the roof catchment, the ground levels, the existing pits and the legal discharge point before we cut a trench. A bigger pipe in the wrong place is still a failed drain. Where a camera or a water test will save excavation, we use it. Where the fall is not there, we say so and design a route that works rather than burying another flat line.
Council and compliance
Stormwater and sewer are not interchangeable. Mixing them is one of the fastest ways to fail an inspection or flood a neighbour. All drainage work is carried out under NSW Plumbing Licence 478768C and finished so it can be inspected.
FAQs
Is a wet yard always a plumbing problem?
Not always. Sometimes it is landscaping or a high water table. We will tell you if the water is coming from a failed drain or from the site itself.
Can you fix drainage on a steep block?
Yes. Fall can be created with pipes, pits and, where needed, a pump. The method depends on the site.
Do you work with builders?
Yes. Drainage is often part of a larger project.
We coordinate so the drain is in before the slab, paths or landscaping close it in.
