About
A failed water line is not a drip you can ignore. On the Central Coast and through the Hunter it usually presents as a sudden loss of pressure, a wet slab, a hiss in the wall, or a meter that keeps turning when every tap is off. CH Plumbing Projects locates the fault, isolates the property and repairs or replaces the line so the water supply is safe and reliable again.
We work on copper, PEX and poly lines in existing homes, new builds and commercial sites. Recent project work includes modern PEX rough-ins at Tuggerawong and emergency copper repairs where a pipe has split inside a wall. The method follows the building, not a one-size kit.
Typical water line jobs
Burst or split copper in walls, ceilings and under slabs
Leaking poly or galvanised lines on older properties
New water service from the meter to the building
Relocating or upsizing lines for bathroom and kitchen renovations
Replacing failed sections without ripping out the whole house unless the pipework is at the end of its life
How we keep disruption down
We isolate only what we need, protect floors and gardens, and reopen the trench or wall as soon as the line has passed pressure test. Where a full replacement is the cheaper long-term option — common in homes still running old galvanised pipe — we map a route that avoids unnecessary demolition and explain the choice before we cut.
Why local conditions matter
Coastal properties deal with corrosive air and sandy ground. Hunter properties often sit on reactive clay that moves seasonally and stresses joints. Both conditions reward correctly supported pipe, the right material for the run, and joints that are tested, not assumed.
FAQs
How do I know if the leak is on my side of the meter?
If the water meter is turning with every tap off, the leak is on the property side and is your responsibility. We confirm this on arrival.
Can you repair a pipe under a slab?
Sometimes. We will always look for a repair that does not require ripping up finished floors first. If the under-slab line is failed along its length, a reroute is usually the lasting fix.
Do you install PEX?
Yes, including on new-build rough-ins. We specify the material that suits the job and the inspection.
